LIUNA Local 607 Powers Thunder City Speedway Race Night

Thunder Bay’s Thunder City Speedway ignites on May 21, 2025, with LIUNA Local 607 sponsoring a thrilling race night, featuring a $400 to win WISSOTA Hornet Special, alongside Liuna Super stocks Modifieds, Super Stocks, Midwest Modifieds, and Street Stocks. Antonella Bandiera will wave the green flag, honoring her father, Livio Bandiera, who co-founded the union in 1957. Check out exclusive race photos at dirtfly.photos!

LIUNA Local 607 has championed Thunder Bay’s construction workers for decades. Livio Bandiera, President until 1993, also served as an Ontario District Council delegate. The union’s Livio Bandiera Scholarship Award supports members’ kids yearly. “Dad built Local 607 for workers’ rights,” Antonella shared. “Waving the flag keeps his legacy alive.” She added, “This race, like our 2018 Soapbox Derby donation, unites Thunder Bay.” The Liuna Super stocks Modifieds race and the scholarship are key to carrying on her father’s vision. She noted, “The scholarship and better wages carry Dad’s vision forward.”
